Quilt Retreat
My mom has been talking about a quilting retreat for a while. We looked into retreat centers and B&Bs but decided it was a lot cheaper for us to rent a cottage for a week. We found a farmhouse in Flesherton (airbnb) and went up Monday afternoon. Friday evening my dad, Andrew and E came up for the weekend. We left the following Monday. My mom did a bit of sewing on the weekend, but I was feeling too tired after Friday.
I got one quilt top done (left - Chinese Tiles) and another mostly done (right - Follow the Leader)!
Monday
Arrive 4pm, unpack eat dinner
Setup in our rental farmhouse:
Chinese Tiles:
-cut Fabric 8
-determine I have enough unused fat quarters to make a second quilt top (same colour way but different fabrics)
-choose binding
-put together Section 1 & 2
Tuesday
Chinese Tiles:
-put together Sections 3 & 4
-have a 2 hour nap
-visit a Quilt Store
-put together Section 5
-Join Sections 1-5 (finish top)

-lay out columns, add in small top and bottom triangles (balancing colours)
-sew top and bottom small triangles on columns 1-7
