Scandinavia with Kids: Copenhagen, Denmark
Day 15 Continued: Louisiana Museum of Modern Art
So we left Sweden and took a ferry from Helsingborg to Helsingør then drove south (towards Copenhagen) to the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art where we met our Canadian friend studying abroad. The museum had some interesting and some quirky pieces. The kid's area was exceptional and I'm sure E could have easily spent a whole day there.
Day 16: Self-guided Bike Tour of Copenhagen
We'd kept the boys up late the day before so I had a little chat with our 6 year old, "E, this is likely going to be Dad's favourite day of the trip. Please use your happy words and happy voice (as opposed to a silly/whiny/annoying voice) so we can make it a great day for him." And we did, and it was!
We rented bikes from Kgs Have Cykler and went off on a mostly self-guided tour of Copenhagen, meeting up with our friend towards the end of our tour.
Kastellet (fortress)
Little Mermaid Statue
Gefion Fountain
(Lunch at our Airbnb)
Amalienborg (palace)
Amaliehaven park
Nyhavn
Church of Our Saviour
Christiania - now home to newest of trolls
Reffen Outdoor Food Market
We went here for a mid-afternoon snack even though this is quite a bit out of the way from the main tour so is not included on the tour map, but the prices for food are a lot more reasonable here than in the main tourist district.
King's Garden and Playground in the King's Garden
Day 17: More Biking, Tivoli, and Walking Tour
We packed a lot in to this day as well!
We had our rented bikes until mid-morning so we decided on a few unusual Copenhagen sites Konditaget Luders and the Genetically Modified Little Mermaid.
Tivoli
After returning our bikes we made our way by bus to Tivoli for opening at 11am. Sadly it rained for most of our time on the rides.
La Glace
My friend and I went for hot chocolate and desserts! They were delicious.
Rosenborg Castle/park
Day 18: Get Home aka The Longest Day
Not much to report, the flight was during the day and the kids did reasonably well, but it's travel days are always really tiring. We tucked a blanket into their trays so they could play with toys without them falling on the floor too often.

Continuing south we stopped for dinner at Rungsted Havn which had lots of options for dinner and dessert with seating along the harbour. We then drove in to Copenhagen to our Airbnb, got the kids to sleep and then Andrew drove to the airport to return the rental car (and search for a lost carry-on which he did not find). It was a long day, but overall very enjoyable and sunny!
