Penguin Party - A 5th Birthday

Our biggest kid turned 5 this year! Here is a recap from the June party.
The invitation:
Food:
-chocolate cupcakes with white frosting and clear sugar sprinkles & free printable penguin toothpick toppers (12)
-hot dogs/sausages
-caesar salad/kale salad
-veggie tray
-fruit tray
-blue punch (Blue Hawaiian Punch, 7Up, lemonade)
-nacho dip & chips
Decorations:
I had a lot of fun getting the decorations together for this party. It was pretty easy to find black and white items, but much harder to find anything specifically penguin-related in June. E and I had a great time making the snowflakes together (see below).

Balloons
Kids wearing black and white
Black table cloths with white snowflakes

Penguin banner with E's name

Entertainment:
Colouring Pages
Penguin Race Toys
Relay Race:
Part 1. Waddle with a balloon between your legs to the rope
Part 2. Throw snowballs into (black and white polka dot) bins
Loot Bags:
Using double sided tape E added the white snowballs we cut out with my mom's Silhouette as well as the penguin circles I had pre-cut for him to the black paper bags. The only place I could find penguin toys was OpenAParty.com. The total cost for each gift bag was less than $5 (tax/shipping + bags included).

This was a really fun birthday and could easily be adjusted for any age!
