Nursery Changes Between Children

Six months into having baby #2 the nursery was in a decent place. You can check out previous blog posts where we painted, installed blinds, and quick update in this post about a bookshelf where you can also peak the curtain I installed after the blinds (also pictured below left).

After we moved T (baby #2) out of the nursery and into a room with his older brother, the nursery really became a storage place.

So we emptied out the years of toy packaging that I had kept for some reason and painted the inside of the closet, which we hadn't done when we originally painted the rest of the room and pretty ceiling. The photos don't do it justice but it really was a big improvement.

There was some decor change between the two kids. T's rainbow wall-hanging and lamp (pictured below left) went with him and Q's marine wall-hanging, lamp and some different toys were placed in the room.

The boys' aunt and uncle gave both T and Q a sweet cuddle+kind doll with matching print. So we swapped out the print during the room switch over.

Since our last baby (#3) was born in 2021, we've since transitioned him out of the crib into a big kid bed and just recently out of the nursery altogether.

Here's one of the last days Q was in the crib!

We followed this same strategy for all three kids and added the bed beside the crib initially.

And then down the road a few weeks we had them help remove the crib. My mom also made Q the sweetest quilt when he requested one with a purple owl.

Stay tuned for an update of this room as it's transformed from a nursery to a guest room this fall!
