Travelling in Germany with Young Kids
Germany has a lot to offer families with young kids. Playgrounds, national parks, mountains, lakes, and forests, historic and modern buildings, statues and other amazing sites, museums built with kids in mind, science centres, dinosaur exhibits, zoos and amusement parks. We spent a month in Germany in April of this year.
Andrew had work in Munich until Day 19. I was on my own with our boys Days 3-7 & 10-14. Andrew's parents joined us on Day 16 so we were all together that day and they were with me and the boys Day 17-19.
Day 20 we ALL set off to circle Eastern, Northern, and Central Germany. Sadly we weren't able to make it to Western Germany (Frankfurt, Cologne, Stuttgart & the Black Forest) this trip.
I've put together our 28 day itinerary. If you're travelling to Germany I hope you're inspired to visit some of these places. You'll notice some Home Days as we take rest as it's needed so we can fully enjoy busy (no-nap) days when we have them.
