A Bugtastic Birthday Party!

Nothing more goofy than a bug and insect birthday. If you ask T what his favourite animals are he won't say cat or dog or monkey or hippo - he'll say worms, caterpillars and ladybugs. Creating a creepy crawly party for him was a pleasure!

Invitation:

Decorations:

I purchased bug decor from Open A Party. A large tablecloth we used in the dining room, a 3-pack of centrepieces on the food table along (not currently sold separately) with napkins and hanging cutouts in the living room. My sister also decorated the chalkboard near the food table.

Food:

Bugs 'n Cheese: Pasta from bulk barn and a cheese sauce made with Velveeta.

Runts on a Log: Celery with peanut butter and raisins

Ladybug Cheese: Babybel cheese with red wrapper, opened with halved black olives and black cake decorating gel for the dots. (inspiration)

Grape Caterpillar Skewers: Grape head placed horizontally, body parts vertically and candy eyes. (inspiration)

Worms 'n Dirt: Dessert was chocolate pudding, Oreo cookie crumbs and gummy worms. (inspiration)

Beetle Juice (purple) grape Fruite, sprite, lime juice, sorbet

Activities:

Pin the Spot on the Ladybug:
Similar to pin the tail on the donkey. Click here for the free printable.

Butterfly Suncatchers:
We used these suncatchers and and this suncatcher paint. I thought we'd need two packs of paint but the kids took turns well and one pack would have been enough.

Loot Bags:
We had little cardboard bug boxes with a variety of bug toys, activities and a plastic magnifying glass.
