First Day of School Re-cap

We had one excited kid on his first day of school! He is so ready for Junior Kindergarten. 

E woke up at 3am with night terrors a few days in a row leading up to and following his big day. That was definitely the low point for our whole family. Otherwise the transition is going well. 

E is enjoying his bike ride to school with dad in the mornings!

T and I were happy to go along on Day 1 to get the lay of the land and see how drop offs work since we won't regularly be going.

At the end of the day I waited for E at the bus stop and he did an excellent job navigating the bus system on his first (and subsequent) days. Safety first, holding the railing!

So far E loves the new responsibilities that come along with JK (packing his lunch and backpack, bringing notes to the teachers, wearing his backpack while riding a bike, going on the school bus, unpacking his backpack and lunch bag, etc.) and is quite proud of all these new things. 

If only I could get him to remember one thing he did each day! It's like his memory is erased before getting off the bus :P
